As a versatile sewage and drainage contractor, CESS wears many hats. Our core services range from the essential to the unexpected, helping you to comply with UK environmental laws while saving you money and stress in the long run.
In this month’s blog, we thought we’d take the opportunity to show off our six main services. From installing up-to-date sewage treatment plants to servicing your drainage system, our team of experts deliver off-mains solutions for dozens of domestic and commercial clients each year.
Sewage Treatment Plants
Recent changes to UK environmental laws have made sewage treatment plants legally required for the great majority of “off-mains” properties. At CESS, we specialise in installing new treatment plants, typically in place of a septic tank or another non-compliant system. We also provide professional servicing of sewage treatment plants in line with regulations.
The first step is a free site survey carried out by our experts to assess the best type of system for your property. Next, we provide you with a full works plan that explains what work needs to be done, including the removal of your old system. Then it’s over to our installation team to install the sewage treatment plant itself. All CESS installers are trained and accredited to install both Biocell and ClenViro Matrix systems.
Compliance Surveys
It’s a question we hear a lot: How do I know if my off-mains sewage system needs replacing? Fortunately, we offer a free compliance check to see whether your system meets updated UK regulations. The check consists of examining the layout of your property and the condition of your current sewage system. We also offer a compliance survey for people buying a new home, albeit for a small fee.
Drain Surveys and Repairs
As experienced drainage contractors, we offer a host of drain survey, cleaning and repair services for homes and commercial buildings. Our team specialises in CTTV drain surveys, which uses a remote-control camera to check your drains and pipes for damage. We then produce a full drainage condition report and site plan and provide a no-obligation quote for any repairs and remedial works.
As for drain repairs, our cutting-edge “no-dig” Renoline system minimises disruption and excavation work. We can also clean your drains using high-pressure jet washing. What’s more, we’ll gladly unblock your sewage pipes or storm water drainpipes if they have become clogged.
Soakaways and Drainage Fields
By law, many off-mains properties in the UK must have a system in place to safely disburse treated wastewater from a sewage system. It’s also important to be able to drain rainwater run-off into the surrounding soil. We design and install sewage plant drainage fields to meet these different needs.
For rainwater soakaways, our team will carry out the necessary checks – including a full percolation test – to make sure your property’s soil type and ground structure are capable of draining sufficiently. Following necessary checks we can we can design and install a soakaway system suitable for your property.
Rainwater Harvesting Systems
Rainwater doesn’t have to be disbursed via a soakaway or mains drainage. In fact, households and businesses can re-use rainwater to save money and reduce energy consumption on a large scale. At CESS, we’ve installed rainwater harvesting systems for homes and commercial properties. These systems work by storing excess rainwater underground (or above ground) in a large tank, to be used instead of mains water. Watch as your water bills plummet when washing clothes and dishes, showering, and watering the garden.
Maintenance, Repairs and Upgrades
Poor septic tank or sewage treatment plant maintenance is one of the main causes of failure, blockages and drainage field binding. As such, we offer a comprehensive health check and maintenance plan for all sewage systems. Our trained experts can identify any problems with your system using a range of quality tests. We offer both annual service agreements and single appointments, depending on your needs.
