Project Summary
We initially visited this property in Witley, Surrey to inspect a collapsing manhole cover to the existing septic tank. It quickly became apparent that the septic tank caps were dangerously unstable and in danger of collapse.
The septic tank caps would need to be carefully removed and we were concerned that the tank walls would be in similar condition, rendering the system beyond economical repair. To our surprise the structure of the septic tank was sound and in generally good condition. With the structure sound, the team could get on with upgrading the pipework and fitting new caps.
With all remanence of the old caps removed, Mark got to work upgrading the separation pipework to modern standards and building new caps with stronger concrete blocks and new covers. With the septic tank upgrades and repairs completed, the system was as good as new and would provide many more years of service for the happy homeowners.
Project Challenges
The two brick-built covers to the septic tank we dangerously unstable and in danger of collapsing. Mark and the team had to carefully pick apart the crumbling brickwork to expose the main chambers. When the chambers proved to be sound, we were able to simply repair and upgrade the existing septic system. Saving the clients considerable expense and disruption.
