Project Summary
A new and enlarged drainage field to upgrade an existing septic tank at a large private house in Liss, Hampshire. The project required a 95m trench to be carefully excavated on a steeply sloping site.
The groundworks took place in a mature garden and care was required to protect shrubs and lawns as much as possible. Tricky to do with large excavations on a steep gradient. Protecting the lawns with boards and some careful landscaping provided a stable platform for the digger and dumper operators.
Project Challenges
The biggest challenge with the project was the steep gradient of the site. This could have made the site difficult and potentially dangerous to operate machinery on but we landscaped a stip of land to provide a stable working platform on which to excavate the 95m tench that would house the pipe run for the drainage field.
